Delivering major sops to the entertainment buffs in the state, Uttar Pradesh government here has announced the reimbursement of the state GST imposed on the tickets of multiplexes and cinema houses in the state since July 2017.
The decision was taken by the state cabinet meeting here on Tuesday which was chaired by chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Briefing media persons, state government spokesperson and state health minister Sidharthnath Singh said that the government will reimburse 9 per cent GST on tickets worth upto Rs 100 and 14 per cent GST on tickets above Rs 100 tickets.
The total GST on the cinema tickets are 18 per cent on ticket upto Rs 100 in which the state GST share in nine per cent while the total GST on tickets over Rs 100 is 28 per cent in which the state share in 14 per cent.
Mr Singh said that this policy of reimbursement which had commenced from July, 2017 will continue till June, 2020.
