As the deadline nears for the rollout of India’s biggest tax reform, Haseeb Drabu, Finance Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, told CNBC-TV18 that the panel might spend two days in clearing the GST law so that it can go to the Parliament.
Speaking to the channel, he said that an enabling rate should be allowed so that there is no legislative tangle later on.
He said that the next step will be to fit the rates across commodities. In the same interview, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Finance Minister, Assam said that he would like the State GST bill to be ready so that states can move it in their assemblies.
He hopes to move state GST bill in the state assemblies in March itself.
