The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) vide Trade Notice No. 23/18 dated February 6, 2018 has advised the exporters to check the status of the Shipping Bill on ICEGATE and DGFT websites, on a pronto basis, after the reports came in that, when exporters login into DGFT system for availing Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) benefits, like Merchandise Exports for India Scheme (MEIS), sometimes the shipping bill data is not found in the DGFT system.

The shipping bill data is transmitted from Customs Port Offices to ICEGATE server and subsequently to DGFT server. To overcome this issue, it has been advised to exporters to check the transmission status of the shipping bill, first on ICEGATE and then on DGFT after 72 hours from integration of Shipping Bill with ICEGATE.

If the shipping bill data is still not available, the issue can be registered with concerned authorities, at Contact@DGFT services available on the website and detailed issue can be mailed at dgftedi@nic.in by quoting the Contact@DGFT reference number.
