As per Instruction No.02/2020 – Customs dated 20.02.2020 vide which it was directed to introduce 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations to address any congestion or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions due to outbreak of COVID- 19.
CBIC vide Instruction No. 08/2020 – Customs dated June 01, 2020, as the situation of COVID-19 pandemic is still prevailing and trade continues to face challenges therefore as a measure of facilitation, CBIC has decided to extend the facility of 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations till June 30, 2020. However, designated Sea Pons/Airports already under 24×7 operations shall continue to function even after June 30, 2020.
Further, the Chief Commissioners are therefore requested to make proper arrangements for the same and deploy a sufficient number of officers on a 24×7 basis at sea pons/Air Cargo Stations/ICDs/CFSs etc falling in their jurisdiction. A record may also be maintained of the BEs/SBs filed beyond the normal office hours, station wise.
