ADTOI demands GST exemption for domestic tourism

The Association of Domestic tourist Association of India (ADTOI) has demanded exemption of Goods and Services Tax (GST) for domestic tourism to encourage tourists to explore India first. The demand was put forward by PP Khanna, President, ADTOI while speaking at the inaugural session of the Association’s 9th annual convention in Ahmedabad, Gujarat today.

Citing the call of the Prime Minister during his Independence Day speech to every Indian to visit 15 destinations in the country by 2022, when India celebrates 75th anniversary of Independence, Khanna said that the government should support the realisation of the PM’s vision by exempting domestic tourism from the ambit of GST.
 The ADTOI President in his speech also urged the government to reduce the GST burden on tourism especially, MICE travel so that the business going out of India can be stopped.
